In 2019, there will be three route options:
The Gold Route includes the swim, the walk/run over 7 Munros, the kayak and the cycle:
The Silver Route is the same as the Gold Route, except the walk/run does not include the re-ascent to Meall Nan Tarmachan:
The Bronze Route does not include the swim section. As shown on the map below, the route starts on the North side of Loch Tay. The walk/run section is also shorter than the Gold and Silver Routes - you will come off the hills after Beinn Ghlas, omitting Meall Corranaich and Meall Nan Tarmachan:
The Gold and Silver Routes start at Ardtalnaig shore (Grid Ref NN 6968 3907) at 06.00 or 07.00 swim start
From Ardtalniag to the North side of Loch Tay (Grid Ref NN 685396). Approx timing: 18 minutes - 1 hour.
If you choose the Bronze route option, you will not be doing the swim section, and you will start on the North side of Loch Tay.
Run or Walk over 7 Munros, encompassing the Lawers and Tarmachan Ridges to Loch Tay Highland Lodges. Approx timing: 5 - 10 hours.
The Gold Route option includes all 7 Munros.
If you choose the Silver Route option, you will not be doing Munro 7, Meall Nan Tarmachan.
If you choose Bronze route option, you will not be doing Munro 6 or 7, Meall Corranaich and Meall Nan Tarmachan.
The Munros, in order, are:
From Loch Tay Highland Lodges, Grid Ref NN 6168 3566, at Milton Morenish back to Ardtalnaig. You must stay close to the north shore and only cross the Loch once you have physically touched "Bikini Beach". Approx timing 1½ to 2¼ hours.
34 miles (54Km) starts and finishes at the Event Hub, Grid Ref NN 6986 3928, cycling clockwise around Loch Tay. Pay attention to the steep hills, oncoming traffic and narrow roads on the south side. Approx timing 1¾ to 3½ hours.
